When I walked into the Lincolnshire house for the first time last year I was excited to tackle their space because I knew it was going to make such an impact for them! I also love a challenge!! And although it's hard to tell through the pictures, the undertones of the gray paint leaned purple. She was drawn to a much more modern look, and also wanted a lux feeling in the rooms. And then lastly, she has a small child at home (read: make child-friendly selections!), and enjoys having people over and entertaining!
Mood Boards
First Stop: Furniture selection. Since they were rocking their furniture from college – it was time for an upgrade! Leather was a high priority – and fitting in a sectional was her goal! Here was the design concept:
This is where we started. You might be wondering why the Christmas decorations were up...but you most likely won't be shocked to hear that the timeline of this project was most definitely affected by covid delays. I started the project in December of last year, and wrapped it up this summer. I still want it's permanent place on the blog though, so here we are. ;)
Before Pictures
I went with a brushed nickel finish for the new fixture over the dining table, and paired it with a black ceiling fan in the living room. To show off the height of the room, I selected floor to ceiling curtains that have a slight shimmer (bringing in that lux, hotel aesthetic she was dreaming about). And finally, I kept the color palette simple because there was so many design dots to connect. Less needed to be more here – giving the right elements the chance to shine!
